We are a small family run and operated tax consulting and preparing and bookkeeping service. We specialize in small business, sole proprietorship and farm taxes and operations.

We have been preparing individual taxes since the 2011 tax season and our founder, Leroy Newell, has been preparing taxes since the 2006 tax season.

We have been helping local businesses file sale and use, withholding, and 941's since 2011 and are very versed in all aspects of small business operations, running two small businesses ourselves.

William (Leroy) Newell
Enrolled Agent
Leroy Newell is the founder and enrolled agent of Cherryfield Tax. He has been an enrolled agent since July 2011 and since then has grown this business. He has a wife and two adult daughters, is an owner of Cherryfield Farm, and raises cattle and sheep. He is an active advocate for agriculture and currently serves as president of Transylvania Co. Farm Bureau.
Judy Newell
Business Assistant and Notary
Judy trained as a secretarial assistant and worked in the mid west for many years prior to moving to North Carolina and began with Cherryfield Tax in 2013. She has been married to her husband Bill since 1961 and is blessed with many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In her free time she loves researching genealogy, crocheting and weaving.
Fallon Newell
Tax Consultant
Fallon Newell started with Cherryfield Tax in 2014, She is currently pursuing additional education specializing in bookkeeping. She enjoys spending time at the farm looking after her sheep. She currently serves on the board of multiple non-profit organizations and enjoys spending time with her husband and their rescue dogs and cats.
Carlos Flores
Business Assistant and Translator
Carlos Flores started with Cherryfield Tax in 2021, He is studying Computer Science for software development. He loves the outdoors, spending time with his family, and helping others learn about computer programming. In his free time he enjoys working on personal projects.
